Morning Routine

Protect, prep, and face the day with confidence.

A morning routine is not about applying as many products as possible. It is about preparing your skin for the environment ahead — UV, pollution, and the demands of the day. Four thoughtful steps are all you need.

Routine purpose

Why this routine.

The morning routine serves two primary purposes: protecting the skin barrier that repaired overnight, and shielding skin from the UV radiation and environmental stress it will encounter during the day.

Environmental protection

SPF and antioxidants shield skin from the UV and pollution exposure that causes long-term damage.

Consistent progress on concerns

Daily application of active serums compounds over weeks and months into meaningful improvement.

Confident skin all day

A well-prepared morning routine means skin stays comfortable and looks good throughout the day.

    Layering guide

    How to layer this routine.

    ✕

Apply from thinnest to thickest texture

Lighter products cannot penetrate through heavier ones. Serum before moisturiser, moisturiser before SPF.

    ✕

    Always apply SPF last

SPF forms a protective film on the surface. Applying anything over it dilutes its efficacy.

    ✕

Allow each layer to absorb briefly

A 30–60 second wait between steps prevents pilling and allows each product to bind to the skin before the next layer.

    ✕

Vitamin C and Niacinamide can coexist — apply Vitamin C first

Vitamin C requires a lower pH environment to be active. Apply it first, wait 5 minutes, then apply Niacinamide at its own pH.

    Ingredient synergy

    Why these ingredients work together.

Each pairing in this routine is intentional. Understanding why helps you get the most from every product.

    Lifestyle

    Supporting your routine.

    • ✓

Apply SPF to the neck and backs of hands — they age at the same rate as your face.

    • ✓

If you exercise in the morning, do the full routine after — sweat during exercise is fine to clean off.

    • ✓

In very hot weather, reduce or simplify to just cleanser and SPF if your skin feels overwhelmed.

    • ✓

Reapply SPF every 2–3 hours if you spend meaningful time outdoors.

    Weekly additions

    Once or twice a week.

    +

    AHA/BHA exfoliant (1–2x)

    +

    Brightening mask (1x)

    Questions

    Frequently asked.

For most skin types, a gentle rinse or light cleanse in the morning is beneficial — it removes overnight sebum and prepares skin for serums. If your skin is very dry or sensitive, a simple rinse with water is perfectly adequate.

Most SPFs provide some hydration, but they are not formulated to be moisturisers. Applying a moisturiser beneath SPF supports the skin barrier and creates a better canvas for SPF application. Very oily skin may find a single hydrating SPF sufficient.

An effective morning routine takes 5–8 minutes. There is no benefit to spending longer. Simplicity and consistency are more valuable than complexity.

Yes — significantly. Apply from the thinnest to thickest texture, with SPF always last. Applying a heavy moisturiser before a serum prevents the serum from penetrating. Applying anything over SPF dilutes its protection.
